ABOUT US

UNREAL DESIGNS is Virtual Reality home visualisation studio helping people experience their dream homes before they are built.

We are a husband and wife team of two engineers from Warwick building our dream home. When we started designing our own home, we quickly realised that floor plans and traditional 2D renders weren't enough. We didn't just want to see the design - we wanted to feel the spaces, understand how rooms flowed, and experience how light, layout, and proportions would shape everyday life. So we built our home virtually and stepped inside it using VR.

That experience changed everything. It allowed us to question assumptions, explore alternatives, and refine every detail before a single brick was laid. Using Unreal Engine 5, SketchUp, and Blender, we created a lifelike digital twin of our home that gave us confidence in every decision.

Realising how much it helped us — and how expensive traditional 2D renders can be — we wanted to offer the same experience to others. That’s how Unreal Designs was born: to help you step inside your home before it’s built, explore ideas with confidence, and create a space that truly feels right. We believe VR can give homeowners, designers, and developers a better way to visualise, communicate, and refine their ideas.

I’ve worked in both building services and automotive engineering, and both fields have shown me how important it is to validate designs virtually to avoid costly changes later on. When it came to our own project, I realised I struggle to visualise how a space will feel and what impact different interior choices might have. With so many decisions to make in advance, I started using SketchUp, Blender, and Unreal Engine to see our house design before it’s even built. It’s really helped us make confident choices ahead of time, and now I hope to help others do the same.

I work in automotive engineering, where my role centres on defining requirements early and testing them thoroughly so issues are identified before they become costly problems. I have a strong passion for interior design and am the creative lead in our projects, shaping layouts, materials, and finishes to create spaces that are both functional and inspiring. Using the Virtual Reality headset to step inside our home has been a brilliant way to feel the spaces, try out different styles and to help communicate ideas between each other.
